Frequently asked questions about
Personalized Healthcare
No. Instead, we bill a monthly fee for membership into the practice directly to the patient. No additional costs are applied at the time of visits.
Yes, you may bill your own insurance, as long as it is not Medicare or Medicaid. All private insurance companies may be billed with a superbill, which can be provided to you at the time of visit. Because of government laws, Medicare and Medicaid services cannot legally be billed from this type of practice.
Although we do not require insurance in order to be a member in the practice, we highly recommend that you have catastrophic medical insurance at a minimum. The level of insurance coverage you choose to have beyond that is entirely up to you and the needs of you or your family.
We accept patients ages 6 and older.
A health coach is a trained professional that can help you achieve health-related goals through positive psychology techniques and accountability. They are not a medical professional, but are trained in how to utilize your lifestyle as a whole to achieve improved wellness.
Is health coaching covered by insurance?
Not currently. The American Medical Association is currently in the process of gathering data on health coaching as an insurable service. This means health coaching will likely be billable to insurance in the next few years.
No. However, to ensure that you and your coach connect on a level that will ensure complete understanding of your situation and your personal goals, we do require that all sessions be held in-person or through video conferencing. Sessions can be done over the phone if needed; please speak with your health coach about this option.
